Donating Physical Goods

 

T&E Care no longer accepts donations of physical goods other than laptop computers. If you have other items you’d like to donate, please see the options below for local organizations that can accept your items. Please note: These resources are provided for your convenience. T&E Care does not endorse or guarantee the organizations listed and recommends contacting them directly for up-to-date donation guidelines.

Donating Laptop Computers

T&E Care accepts laptop computer donations that meet certain criteria. Donated laptops are refurbished by the Conestoga High School Computer Club, keeping technology in the community and providing students with valuable hands-on experience in computer repair and refurbishment.

General requirements for laptop donations:

  • Not older than 5 years – a 2-3 year old unit is ideal
  • Laptop is in good working order and all power cords are included
  • If possible, leave the following software installed: internet browsers, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)

Laptop Donation Form

If we are unable to accept your donation, we will provide other resources in the area that may be an alternative. We are sorry, but we do not accept printers, desktop computers or PC towers, ipads, or iphones. Options for these items may include:

  • Donate working computers to Team Children in Audubon, a non-profit that refurbishes used computers and sells them at low-cost to families in the Philadelphia area. Call Team Children at 610-666-1795 or visit their website.
  • Best Buy recycles old computers and printers for free, and monitors for a fee. Contact your local Best Buy store for more details or visit their website.

 

Donating Clothes and Accessories

If you have clothing to donate, please ensure items are clean and in good condition. Here are some local options:

  • New Life Thrift Shop – located in The Church of the Good Samaritan in Paoli
  • The Wardrobe – formerly Wings for Success, located in Exton, Kennett Square, Philadelphia, Upper Darby, and Norristown
  • Cradles to Crayons – located in Conshohocken, Cradles to Crayons accepts new and gently used clothes, books, baby equipment, and arts/craft items for children ages 0-12
  • Maternity Care Coalition – located in Philadelphia, accepts new and gently used maternity and baby clothes, toys, and baby furniture
  • Marian’s Attic – a thrift shop in King of Prussia operated by Laurel House, a non-profit working to end domestic violence
  • St. David’s Country Fair – St. David’s Episcopal Church accepts donations of jewelry, clothing, household goods and decorative items, outdoor/garden items, toys, sports equipment, books and media, art, antiques, and furniture for their annual fair held every October
  • Facebook “Buy Nothing” Group – Join a “Buy Nothing” group in your community and post items you’d like to give away – this links to the Paoli/Berwyn/Devon group
  • Green Drop – Paoli – donations to Green Drop in Paoli support the American Red Cross
  • Goodwill – Berwyn

 

Donating Furniture, Appliances, and Household Items

If you have furniture, appliances, or household items to donate, here are some local options:

  • Community Warehouse Project of Chester County – drop-off M-F from 9am-1pm and every third Saturday of the month at the CWP Warehouse in West Chester – pre-approval required
  • PECO Appliance Recycling – recycle refrigerators, freezers, and room air conditioners with free pick-up and possible rebates – subject to availability
  • Media FreeStore – for small appliances, household items, and furniture
  • Habitat for Humanity ReStore – located in Coatesville and Phoenixville, ReStores sell new and gently used furniture, appliances, cabinets, building materials, and more

Donating Cars

T&E Care no longer accepts donations of cars. While there are many organizations that accept vehicles, please be cautious as some operators may not be reputable. Below are some car donation options recommended by Forbes Advisor:
