Post-Secondary Education Assistance Program
What is PEAP?
PEAP (formerly known as CAP) supports motivated students who are preparing for life after high school and could benefit from additional guidance and resources as they pursue college, trade school, job training, or other career pathways.
PEAP is designed for students who have demonstrated acdemic commitment, good attendance, and initiative through school, work, or community involvement — and who are ready to take the next step toward post-secondary education or career training.
PEAP provides tuition gap assistance and other education-related support to help students attend and complete their post-secondary education plans which may include traditional four-year colleges, community colleges, trade or vocational schools, and technical training or licensure programs.
Funding for this program is limited and subject to budgetary restrictions.
Who PEAP Helps
Students are typically identified during sophomore or junior year by school counselors at Conestoga High School. Conestoga students with an interest in the PEAP program should speak to their counselor. Tredyffrin or Easttown residents attending other high schools may also be eligible and can submit a PEAP interest form below.
To be eligible for PEAP, students must:
- Demonstrate consistent academic effort and attendance
- Show responsibility through work, leadership, or community involvement
- Have a clear interest in post-secondary education or career training
- Are looking for additional support to make informed, sustainable choices
Mentorship & Guidance
PEAP recognizes that planning for life after high school can be complex, especially when navigating applications, financial aid, and program decisions for the first time. Mentors work alongside students and families to:
- Clarify timelines, requirements, and expectations
- Compare post-secondary options with an eye toward fit, cost, and outcomes
- Understand financial aid pacakages and planning considerations
- Build confidence in decision-making and long-term planning
Financial Assistance
PEAP students work with our volunteer mentors to help identify affordable college or trade school options. Tuition gap assistance and other education-related support such as books or fees may be available for PEAP students. Guidelines used in determining who will be considered for financial assistance include:
- Grades We believe students who have worked hard in class and challenged themselves are more likely to be successful adults.
- Extracurricular Activites and/or Employment Involvement in school clubs, sports, projects, volunteer activities or community service work, and/or a job offer important opportunities for individual growth; especially activities that demonstrate responsibility, initiative, and leadership.
- Financial Need Financial need is based on gross household income and the federal poverty guidelines which are adjusted annually.
The Goal of PEAP
Although T&E Care is best known for providing short-term support during times of need, PEAP is an investment in moving toward a strong foundation for life after high school.
PEAP focuses on:
- Supporting informed, sustainable post-secondary and career decisions
- Encouraging long-term independence through education, training, and employment pathways
- Equiping students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to navigate complex systems and transitions.
By pairing guidance, mentorship, and targeted support, PEAP helps students complete post-secondary degrees, credentials, or training programs that open doors to stable career opportunities and long-term stability.
If you are interested in PEAP, live in Tredyffrin or Easttown Township, and do NOT attend Conestoga High School, please submit the interest form below (or click here to open the form directly). Conestoga students, please contact your guidance counselor for more information.
