The Holiday Food Drive in December helped supply groceries to families in our community and a prepared holiday meal for them to enjoy. The groceries and meal were supplemented with bags of fresh produce graciously donated by the Amana Foundation a bouquet of flowers donated by Sondra Zalewski and Karen Seifert, the chairmen for this event.
Fresh flowers are a scarce luxury for people in need. “One woman got teary this year when she was given them,” saids Zalewski. “It’s moments like that which make all this effort worth it.”
Community members supported the Holiday Food Drive by sponsoring a meal from HomeCooked in Paoli, sponsoring a special dessert, or purchasing a bag of groceries including cooking or baking items, seasonings, or freezer bags.
