T&E Care – what we’re all about

In the fall of 2021, Eadeh Enterprises offered to put together a short video about T&E Care.  Of course we jumped at the chance to explain “in person” how T&E Care works.  Please click below for this short video.  And when you are done with our video, check out the other local businesses that are part of Eadeh’s Dream Building campaign!  MANY thanks to Eadeh Enterprises for caring so much about our community!

T&E Care Core Values

T&E Care members follow these Core Values in our efforts:

  1. Respect confidentiality

We respect our neighbors and strive to maintain confidentiality of the personal information shared by individuals requesting our assistance.

  1. Work quickly

When an urgent request is received, a quick response is often needed.  We respond as quickly as possible to emergency requests.

  1. Approach in a neighborly manner

When a neighbor asks for assistance, we respond like a neighbor would, with compassion, respect, and caring, not like a bureaucratic agency.

  1. Be inclusive

T&E Care will lend a hand to anyone in our community who requests assistance as long as there is verifiable financial need. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, national origin, disability or marital status.

  1. Sound stewardship

We are grateful for and respect all of our community supporters.  We strive to maintain high financial and ethical standards and responsibly utilize all donated funds and goods. To maximize the generous support of our donors, we operate as an all-volunteer organization.

  1. Community Partner

We work with other local community resources and organizations to magnify our ability to assist our community neighbors.

Adult/Child Clearances

Any T&E Care volunteers who expect to have direct contact with children when involved in the organization’s work, are first to apply for both Child Abuse History Clearance and Criminal Background Record Check. Additionally they will either need an FBI clearance and fingerprints, or they will have to sign an affidavit saying that they have lived in PA for 10 or more years AND they have no criminal record. Guidelines for Volunteers:

Volunteers play an important role in the work of Tredyffrin & Easttown Care. The assistance and support they offer to the Organization and its clients is invaluable and their contributions are part of what make  T&E Care work. The following guidelines have been developed to assist you in serving in this unique function. Offering to volunteer with T&E Care assumes your understanding and agreement with these guidelines.

Confidentiality:

Information you may see or hear can affect the lives and futures of T&E Care clients and their families. Volunteers must respect the privacy of this information and maintain the same in strict confidence.

Relations with T&E Care Clients:

Volunteers are viewed by T&E Care clients as representatives of T&E Care and are perceived by clients as authority figures. When clients raise issues of a personal or controversial nature, volunteers are placed in a difficult position. While working in a volunteer capacity for T & E Care, however, volunteers must refrain from debating, discussing or imposing their opinions on clients on personal or controversial issues.

Special circumstances:

In some instances volunteers may be asked to sign a Confidential Disclosure Agreement substantially in the form set out below.  This is due to the extensive access that the volunteer may have to confidential information and is intended to serve as a reminder of his/her obligation to maintain the confidentiality of this information.  Please note that the directors and officers of T&E Care are required by law to maintain such confidentiality; this is not necessarily the case with volunteers.  Accordingly, when the volunteer has extensive access to confidential information but is not an officer or director, T&E Care may require execution of a Confidential Information Agreement to specify what his/her obligations are with respect to the information received.
