Once again T&E Care will be organizing a School Supply Drive to help area kids whose families struggle to buy the required supplies. In the past we've had around 200 local kids on our list. That's a lot of pencils! These supplies are required by the schools. This program allows the community to help ALL our local kids feel good about the start of the new school year!
You can help out by sponsoring a student(s), getting bulk items, or donating cash or gift cards. Collections will run from July 6-23.NOTE: at this point you can only donate cash or gift cards. We will be posting the other lists on July 6 when the entire wish list goes live.
SPONSORING A STUDENT: There will be a list of students (grades/genders, not names) to be sponsored. Please note that the Generic Supply Lists provided below are different than those on the schools’ websites. Please buy only what is on our Generic School Supply List.
BULK SUPPLIES: There will be a short list of bulk supplies that you may donate to the drive. You can purchase all of one (or more) items, or just a small handful - or anything inbetween.
BEFORE YOU GO SHOPPING: It is very important that you contact us (email@example.com) before you go shopping to let us know which student(s) you wish to sponsor and/or bulk supplies you wish to donate. We will keep the website list updated as often as possible between July 6 and 23.
DONATION CHECKLIST - Please fill out the T&E Care DONATION CHECK-LIST (provided below) and include it with your donations to help us make record keeping and thank you notes easier.
DROP OFF LOCATIONS - public drop off sites include Play It Again Sports (Rte 30 in Berwyn) and the Tredyffrin Library. Please drop items off ONLY when these places are open. Additional options may be made available to all donors.
FINANCIAL DONATIONS: If you would like to help but don't want to shop, cash donations can also be made. As a general guide, the approximate cost of school supplies for an elementary school student is $50, for a middle or high school student it is about $100. Of course, any amount will help us meet our goal. Donations can be made by check (made payable to T&E Care) or through PayPal.Checks should be mailed to: T&E Care, attn: SSD, PO Box 2111, Southeastern, PA 19399. These donations can be made anytime - you do not need to wait until July 6.
GIFT CARD DONATIONS: Gift cards are always helpful for families for the purchase of clothes, shoes, and food, items that also are necessary. Having new clothes to start the school year and food for a healthy breakfast goes a long way to helping these students feel good about starting school. Popular stores for clothes and shoes include Walmart, Target, Famous Footwear, TJ Maxx, Old Navy, or any basic stores at the mall. (No specialty stores, please.) Wegmans, Giant, Trader Joes, and Acme also work. If you donate gift cards PLEASE make sure the total amount is indicated somewhere on the card. That saves us time calling the store to figure out the amounts! THANKS! If you would like to send us gift cards, please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org letting us know they will be coming. Gift cards (and the Donation Check List) should be mailed to: T&E Care, attn: SSD, PO Box 2111, Southeastern, PA 19399. These donations can also be made anytime - you do not need to wait until July 6.
Deadline: The final day to drop off all items is Sunday, July 23. Sorting will be done at Conestoga High School on Thursday, July 27.
If you want to volunteer to help on Sorting Day at Conestoga (July 27) or for a few other jobs - go to our SIGN UP GENIUS site. If you run into any problems on that site, then please contact us at email@example.com.
