The mission of T&E Care is to maintain a network of people providing financial and other material assistance to persons in need in and around the Tredyffrin and Easttown township area.
Celebrating 10 Years ...
With Some Awesome Community Partners
Monday, September 28, 2015
Our 10th anniversary party was a great success. Thanks to all who came and enjoyed the friendships! It was fun to walk down memory lane and celebrate all the accomplishments and all those who have supported T&E Care throughout these past ten years. Special thanks to all those who could not attend but sent in such wonderful notes of congratulations.
Surrey was a great host - the location was perfect for the event. And thanks again to Wegmans, Whole Foods, Wawa, Panera, and Acme for all the delicious food. And we loved the balloon decorations from the Party Store of Berwyn. Finally, a shout out as well to Jessica Mintz for baking extra cookies - they were DELICIOUS!! Our goal in planning this event was to hold a party that didn't cost us anything, so our funds could continue to help the families that need it. And we were successful thanks to these wonderful sponsors!!
Thanks also to Representatives Duane Milne and Warren Kampf, Senator Andy Dinniman, and County Commissioners Michelle Kichline, Kathi Cozzone, and Terence Farrell for making the effort to join us for this event. Each presented us with Citations of Congratulations - we were very proud to accept them on behalf of all those in the community that have worked so hard these past 10 years!
Last but never least, thanks to Laura Pratt, Danyll Lockett and Carol Tompkins for their extra efforts in helping to get this party ready for the big night!
Be sure to mark your calendar for our upcoming Fall Fest fundraiser. This is our most important fund raising event of the year and your support is critical. We hope you can attend (invites will be available shortly) but if you can't, there are still lots of ways to help out.
Buy raffle tickets - $20 each or 6 for $100 - the prize is $1000 worth of premium wines and beer. You do not need to be present to win. Tickets will be available soon.

Believe it or not - the holidays are right around the corner. We are beginning to plan the details for our annual Holiday Drive. If you have any interest in helping out, or have an offer to make in advance, or a suggestion to consider - then please contact us at email@example.com.
This year's drive will be done a little differently than in the past - with our host location being St. John's Presbyterian Church in Devon. Important dates include:
The website will be live with the wish lists - November 16-December 4.
All donations should be dropped off directly at St. John's Dec. 6-7 (no early drop off locations).
Wrapping will take place at the church on Dec. 10.
More specific details will be coming soon.
Buy A Present. Give A Future!
Looking for alternatives to mall-shopping this holiday season? Wondering what to give Uncle Bob instead of one more necktie? Want your purchases to make a difference in the world? Then come to an Alternative Gift Market, where you can find unique hand-made and fair-trade gifts for everyone on your list, and your purchases will help people in need, both locally and around the world!
The market will be held on Saturday November 14 from 9am—3pm, and on Sunday November 15 from 12pm—3pm at the Baptist Church in the Great Valley, located at 945 North Valley Forge Road in Devon. Proceeds will benefit T&E Care!
Whether honoring loved ones with the purchase of an animal from Heifer International, or fair-trade coffee and chocolate from Equal Exchange, gifts from Ten Thousand Villages, exquisite hand-made jewelry and fabrics from Africa and Asia, or fair-trade olive oil from Playgrounds for Palestine, you can feel confident knowing your gifts are “giving twice” by supporting fair trade and sustainability around the world.
This 4th annual Alternative Gift Market is being co-organized by two churches (United Church of Christ at Valley Forge and Baptist Church in the Great Valley). Patrons of the market are asked to bring a non-perishable food donation for the Great Valley Food Cupboard (http://bcgv.org/outreach/foodcupboard).
T&E Care Welcomes New Board Member
Evans Pancoast (left) recently joined the T&E Care Board of Directors, replacing Seth Landau (right), a Director since 2008. Seth, a Principal and Senior Vice President of LCOR Incorporated, served as Secretary during much of his tenure on the Board. We wil miss Seth greatly, and thank him for his years of dedication to the organization and the families we support. Evans, CEO of Managed Care Consultants in Devon, brings a wealth of energy and business knowledge to the Board. ALL those involved in T&E Care should be given a huge pat on the back for all their time and efforts!
SPECIAL NEEDS FOR LOCAL FAMILIES
If you have the ability to help with any of these VERY important needs for a few of our local families - please let us know. The power of "community" can often make the impossible possible!
A mom needs warm clothes for her young son. The request is: Boys size 5T coats, jacket, sweater, sweat shirts, long sleeve shirts 9/28/15
A family needs a double or queen bed (and bedding), 9/5/15
A mom needs a couch! If you have one to offer, please let us know. 8/20/15
With our computer refurbishing program, we could use a few printers. If you have a printer that works fine but you no longer need, let us know. It can’t be more than 4 years old, and must use the type of ink that can be purchased in a store (not just online). No laser printers.
We also need laptops!!!! PLEASE if you have a laptop that you think will still work well but you need to upgrade - let us know and we'll look at the old laptop! Thanks!
If you can help out with anything requested in the section above - please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. THANKS!
TD Bank - Bring Change
And Help Local College Students - What a huge success!
When a student heads to college - he can get scholarships, grants, and loans to cover the costs of tuition, room, and board. But those books - wow are they expensive! It can be so hard to get the funds to cover them. We've actually worked with kids who dropped out of school because they couldn't afford the books!
On Aug 7, 2015, the Devon branch of TD Bank ran a one-day fundraiser to help us cover the costs of the books for a number of the students we support. Everyone was encouraged to gather up all lose change and take it to the branch and have it counted at the Penny Arcade. TD Bank matched up to $2000 all the change it counts that day. (There was a little confusion about this aspect of the program - but all change counts WERE counted, whether you donated or not - we did confirm this!) We are excited to say that, in any case, over $2000 was counted - so we got the full amount from TD Bank - PLUS a number of folks just let T&E Care keep the change. That total is not in yet - but we should have well over $1500 in additional donations. That's a LOT of loose change! Think how much lighter our purses and pockets will be - our back doctors will be happy with this fund raiser!
Thanks to all who stopped by and contributed to this cause. If you did stop and need a receipt for your donation - please contact us with details at email@example.com
T&E Care and Amazon Smile T&E Care is now part of the Amazon Smile Foundation program. You might have shopped on Amazon.com and seen a notice to "click here" for a portion of your bill to go to a charity of your choice. This is just like the old Genuardi program that some of you might remember. You pay $xxx for a product. 0.5% of that price then goes to your designated charity. If you didn't designate a charity, Amazon would just keep the 0.5%. Your cost does NOT increase if you designate a charity!
So.... if you are an online shopper and Amazon is one of your go-to sites, please consider naming T&E Care as your charity of choice. It's easy to do but you need to register in advance (one time only):
Be sure you are signed into your own Amazon account.
Name your charity of choice: Tredyffrin & Easttown Care
That's it! It takes 30 seconds to do! You only need to name us once, and then we are the named site from then on. From then on always go to www.smile.amazon.com to start your shopping (instead of amazon.com) and it will always register this charity. (If you forget you'll get a notice reminding you when you go to amazon.com!)
This type of donation can really add up if lots of people sign up! Many thanks for your support!

Car Wash for T&E Care
Spa Car Wash in Berwyn is having a fundraiser for T&E Care! For any "Real Works Wash" (normally $24.99), you will get a $3 saving PLUS $5 will be donated to T&E Care. This fundraiser is good for a whole year - and you can use it as many times as you want (you just need to download multiple coupons). So if you get your car washed anyway - you can save money and donate money all at one time! Thanks to Spa Car Wash for being a partner with us! (You can ignore the deadline on the coupon.)

Making a donation to T&E Care in lieu of a gift
Are you struggling to think of the perfect gift for the person on your list who has everything? Consider making a donation to T&E Care in his/her name? This option is always available - at the holidays or anytime of year. Information on making donations to honor others can be found on our donations page. A letter will be sent to your recipient alerting them of your kind donation (or we can send a card to you for you to wrap and give yourself).
Thanks for considering this option.
Many THANKS for the recent donations ....
July 2015 - Thanks to all the camps that offered scholarships to local kids through the T&E Care camp assistance program. Those camps were run by: TEYSA, Tredyffrin Township, Sky High Basketball, Center on Central, Great Valley Nature Center, Herb McGee Basketball Camp, and Future Stars. Discounts were also offered from HomeCooked and 1st & Goal. With 86 local students receiving camp assistance, and over $16,000 spent on the program, these scholarships (valued at over $2700) were really important to our ability to help more kids. Thanks to Charu Gandhi, Story Picard, Allyson Hotz and Kristin Becket for a job well done coordinating all these folks and camps. Thanks to Cindy Gilroy for coordinating the drivers, and to Lisa McNichol, Fred Stevens, and Toni Linder for doing the driving as needed. A real community effort!
July 2015 - Thanks to Our Lady Of Assumption for making a very generous donation to T&E Care. We are excited to partner with this church!
June 2015 - Through a generous grant from PNC Bank, we have been helping a number of local families cover medical bills this past year. Included have been some significant dental bills. The kids can go to the T/E Children’s Dental Clinic, but the adults often have no dental insurance and just put off this work. Bernie Logan, an Auxiliary Board member, is a local dentist. She has been a HUGE help in organizing many of these visits. Many of the local dentists have bent over backward to help out these folks. These dentists included: Dr. Samia Hardan, Dr. Cathy Mauro, Dr. James Godorecci, Dr. Ericka Klein, Dr. Greta Richter and Dr. Gary Riggs, Dr. Lorran Tokpa, Dr. Anna Rossis, and the Family Dental Group in West Chester. Thanks to all!
As the result of the great Wellness Festival held in May, the Berwyn Devon Business & Professional Associationdonated $2000 to T&E Care at the recent annual dinner. We are so proud to get this recognition from this important local business association.
June 2015 - The Re/Max Main Line Charitable Foundation made a terrific donation through the Chester County Community Foundation that will be used to purchase gift cards for our upcoming School Supply Drive. Thanks for this continued partnership!

May 2015 - A special surprise donation came from St. Luke Church recently - what a nice treat!
May 2015 - Thanks to Community Backstop for partnering with us to help a local adult who needed a "new" car. We couldn't have helped her without their help!

April 2015 - Thanks to St. Matthews United Methodist Church for hosting the annual Grab Bag! Special thanks as well to all the TESD schools, Play It Again Sports, Doctor's Best Immediate Care, Club La Maison, and the Tredyffrin Library for hosting collections. Donations were offered to us from Whole Foods, Starbucks, Paoli Hardware, Wayne Sporting Goods, Plato's Closet, and the Valley Forge Running Company. The Saturday Club and TEMPO loaned us their clothing racks. Many other groups and individuals offered support as well - it's truly a group effort!
April 2015 - A special thanks to St. John's Presbyterian Church in Devon for sending us a donation. These church partnerships are very important to the mission of T&E Care.
April 2015 - Thanks again to Whole Foods in Devon for selecting T&E Care for their Nickles for Nonprofits campaign this past winter. We have received a check for almost $1000 through this program. It's amazing how those nickles can add up!!!
